Musée Unterlinden

UNTERLINDEN MUSEUM – COLMAR

The Musée Unterlinden takes its name from the former Dominican convent of Unterlinden, founded in the 13th century. Opened in 1853, the museum housed a collection of local art, mainly religious works. Its influence increased considerably in 1945 when the Issenheim Altarpiece, Matthias Grünewald’s 15th-century masterpiece, was exhibited there. This altarpiece became the museum’s most famous work and contributed to its international renown. It has become an emblematic venue for art and culture in the region.

MAISON EUROPEENNE DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE

Extérieurs
Annie Ernaux & la Photographie

Extérieurs – Annie Ernaux and Photography celebrates the dynamic relationship between photography and the writing of Annie Ernaux. Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2022, Annie Ernaux is known for her social and feminist engagement, particularly with younger generations, as well as for her ability to explore universal themes such as memory, identity and the human condition. The exhibition combines texts from Annie Ernaux’s book Journal du dehors, 1993 – a transcription of scenes of daily life in the streets, trains and shops between Cergy-Pontoise and Paris between 1985 and 1992 – with works from the MEP collection.

ART PARIS 2024

The leading spring event for modern and contemporary art.

Art Paris is a regional and cosmopolitan art fair that focuses on discovery, while supporting the French art scene. After a successful anniversary edition in 2023, which closed with a record attendance (81,857 visitors), the 26th edition of Art Paris will bring together 136 modern and contemporary art galleries from 25 countries, from 4 to 7 April 2024, at the Grand Palais Éphémère. It will be the last art fair to be held there before the Paris Olympic Games and the reopening of the newly renovated Grand Palais.
